Mary Elizabeth, Owner of TeasCompany.net and The TeaBreak News!


Mary Elizabeth was born and raised in Britain. The kettle was always on and her mother and grandmother more often than not had friends and neighbors over to enjoy tea. Thus Mary Elizabeth's passion for tea began at a very tender age. Brought up during the second world war, Mary Elizabeth learnt to appreciate and enjoy every sip of every cup.

Mary Elizabeth holds degrees in the fields of Domestic Science, History and Social Economics.

In the late 1980's she realized a life-long ambition and opened her British Gift Shop and Tea Room, in Annapolis, Maryland. After many successful years, Mary Elizabeth founded 'Things British' which was located in an old school house in Virginia. Customers would travel for miles just to sample Mary Elizabeth's scones.

Mary Elizabeth has presented numerous programs pertaining to tea, in England, Canada and now Tucson and surrounding areas of Arizona.

Today, she operates Teascompany, which offers a variety of items for sale, including her own speciality private label teas, tea related items such as tea cozies, vintage tea cups, older books about tea. Hosting cooking classes, giving seminars and talks to both large and small gatherings about her favorite brew tea. Her wonderful scones can be shipped frozen across the continental US. Tea tips and recipes are shared with a world wide audience through the TEABREAK NEWS, quarterly, subscription only. The Cactus Tea Society meets monthly for tea related events.

Mary Elizabeth has a wide variety of interests including setting up a Women's Business Directory and a Battered Spouse Shelter. Today she is involved in fund raising efforts for New Beginnings for Women and Children. She resides in Tucson and shares her home with her dearest husband Ted and boxer dog, Holly.
