Welcome to Grandma Maude's Diary

Diary Entry and Wedding Menu

Follow the continuing saga in the TEABREAK news, of my beloved grandmother, Maude Carter Seale, who was one of the most amazing women I ever had the privilege to know. Her life was often full of joy, love and hardship and she was truly a woman before her time.

1897:

The period of mourning for my dear papa is over and Ernest Oliver and I can make plans for our upcoming wedding.
I cannot decide but must , I fear, on a guest list very soon.

The Wedding Feast:

Two soups were served, two fish dishes were offered, two removes (such as ham with spinach, veal with mixed vegetables) four entrees.

Second Course - two roasts, (hare & pheasants), two removes, Brioche with cheese ad Souffle of chocolate, and let's not forget an elaborate Wedding Cake!
